+91 8010-66-77-88Today I googled the meaning of Love. Google simply answered, "Love is an intense feeling of deep affection." This four syllable word was too easily explained and not romanticized, I couldn’t digest it. How can love be a feeling? Is it not an emotion? Or is it a collection of small activities? In the quest of finding the correct answer, I experienced many second-hand love scenarios.
“No mistake about it. Ice is cold; roses are red; I'm in love. And this love is about to carry me off somewhere. The current's too overpowering; I don't have any choice. It may very well be a special place, some place I've never seen before." –Haruki Murakami
What I experienced was something very close to what I studied in my Philosophy class. Love is like a huge elephant and we all are the blind creatures. Continuously touching various parts of the elephant and arguing how it is different from each other’s perception. It is the same thing we are touching and experiencing. Hence, love is highly subjective; one conclusion.
Love is happiness.
Love is a pain.
Love is a constant battle with the ego.
Love is a state of becoming.
Love is all.
And all is love.
But this is not the answer to your question, so let’s dive in deep.
According to people, love is an emotion that constitutes you.
But if you look closely, love constitutes us and makes us feel what we feel.
Even though you are a pessimist and can’t see the glass half full, but love will make you believe that your future would be peaceful because you have your partner.
This makes you go all the way down and all the way up in love, for you don’t even realize these efforts made. You did what you because you felt like, this positive drive is love.
Sorry to shatter your bubble but love is a collection of innumerous feelings which make it the biggest emotion. Love will make you feel pathetic because it will constantly make you choose your partner over the ego.
Your ego will feel the cuts deeply because the priorities might dwindle or the passion can change its direction or the intensity can weaken.
Love will strike you with intense feelings and emotions when you lock your touch or when your thoughts embrace or even when you are miles away accepting and expecting love together.
It will fill every corner of your body, mind, and heart with excitement which you can’t keep aside and which will become your motivation for life.
But love can sweep it away in no time by giving you a glimpse of reality. You would be a skin-touch away from your partner but you will feel aloof.
It will make you feel empty and incomplete by telling you that you are pouring it all away and not keeping enough for yourself. This confusion will begin to build up with the fearless doubt.
Moments will go by and everything will feel new, the experiences and the self. Love will put you in so many shoes that you will feel different and new every day.
It depends on you what you make out of the situations faced, time will be the judge. But the variety of emotions will strengthen and weaken the old you and save the new you.
In the end, I would like to conclude a very simple thing about love.
Do not limit love to just happiness and comfort because that is not what love’s nature is.
Cherish the whole of it, and not just for your partner, but for yourself too.
