Dowry is an age-old tradition in India.  Even though the people are far more educated than ever, still there are some unscrupulous elements in the society who openly pushes this heinous custom and shamelessly boasts about taking the dowry. But then there are people who are striving hard to completely exterminate this vicious custom of dowry by saying no to it and setting examples in front of everyone. One such inspiration example is set up by a Kolkata based lad, Suryakanta Barik, an English teacher at a private school in Sonarpur city (West Bengal) who refused to take any sort of dowry from in-laws.
