The Lakme Fashion Week 2019 revived back the charm of black with popular couture designers like Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna opting to present their exclusive collection in black and metallic hues. Their exquisite collection by the designers was a display of elaborate and intricate embellishment, geometric patterns crafted on luxurious fabrics. The suave design made on the knee-length jacket makes it the perfect fit for weddings. Ayushman Khurana stole hearts during the Lakme Fashion week by sporting the black designer shimmery jacket kurta. He rocked the style and looked like a handsome hunk.

2. Flower Power

This year’s wedding season is all about pastel hues and floral patterns. Understanding the popularity of the floral patterns the couture designers incorporated it in their collections and made it a part of the Lakme Fashion Week. Renowned fashion designer Payal Singhal presented her collection which was in a myriad of colourful hues adorned with quirky floral imprints and designs. She gave her collection a floral twist by ditching the regular flower patterns and instead replaced them with abutilon print.

Drawing inspiration from the works of nature the abutilon print enhanced the overall look of the outfit by giving a bohemian vibe. Farhan Akhtar and his girlfriend Shibani Dandekar turned heads towards them as they wore the bohemian abutilon printed outfit as they walked hand in hand down the ramp.

3. Sticking To the Roots

One of the biggest showstopping attributes of the Lakme Fashion Week was the presentation of collection from the house of master designer Manish Malhotra. Although the designer has been well acclaimed for his haute couture wear for the brides this year's fashion week saw a twist. The master designer presented exclusive couture wear for the grooms. Sticking to the roots the groom wear collection by Manish Malhotra was an amalgamation of traditions with modernism. Ditching away the sherwanis the designer presented experimental silhouette. The collection comprised of waistcoat paired with a dhoti and plazo styled flared bottomed pants.

4. Asymmetry

Seems like this year Lakme Fashion week took asymmetry way too seriously as popular design houses presented their collection in the asymmetrical shape. Designer Ujjawal Dubey presented his sober collection which was inspired by asymmetry. The ombre white and blue bandgala paired with tissue front wrap levelled up the #groomgoals. The designer played with fabrics as he opted for ones in soft layers along with sharp silhouettes. The asymmetric designer kurta was paired along with white slim pants. Designer Ujjawal Dubey surely raised the bars of the groom wear trend with his exclusive collection.

5. Soothing Pastels

This year the soothing hues of the pastels have taken of the wedding industry influencing the designers to rope in couture wear in the cooling hue. Popular Hyderabad designer Anushree Reddy presented her collection which was an ode to flowers and their fragrance. The vibrant hues of the peach and yellow drew inspiration from nature to revive the old charm to life. The designer collection featured kurtas with embroidered patterns and flared sleeves. The kurtas were paired along with churidar pyjamas in the bottom.
