The Director-General of the UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, arrived at India on February 4th, 2020 on a three-day tour.UNESCO is the specialized agency of the United Nations which is based in Paris, France. Jaipur was declared as the world heritage city in India by UNESCO in the month of July 2019. The beautiful city, Jaipur, became the second city of the country to get recognized after Ahmedabad. Her visit to Jaipur today is a proud moment for all the Jaipurites out there. It is Audrey’s first visit to Jaipur after becoming the Director-General of the UNESCO!

The culturally-rich city, Jaipur, was founded in 1727 AD by the Kachwaha Rajput King, Maharaja Jai Singh II. The rich culture and heritage of the Jaipur fascinate millions of people around the globe throughout the year. The iconic architecture of the city is recognized globally, it is considered as the living tradition of the crafts and culture in India. The Director-General of UNESCO has also planned to visit Amber fort in the world heritage city Jaipur.

The UNESCO India Officials announced that “During her meetings, Azoulay will explore opportunities to develop UNESCO's strategic partnership with India with a particular focus on culture, education and artificial intelligence, for which Member States have asked UNESCO to develop a standard-setting instrument for the ethics in AI.”The officials said that reflecting UNESCO’s commitment to education for girls, during her visit to Jaipur world heritage site UNESCO DGAzoulay will also visit the Girls secondary school in Amber, in the Director-General's words "Investing in a girl's education is one of the most effective ways to ensure a better life for her, and a better world for us all."
