Just Like A Movie: Navya and Mohit’s Love Story

Navya Maddali lives in New York and after completing her pharmacy residency studies, she started looking for a job. Eventually at a wedding her father recommended her to meet a young man Mohit Reddy, who also work in pharma industry and can help her in landing a job. Navya was uncertain at first but she ended up connecting with Mohit on LinkedIn. They started with casual conservation and few meet ups for drinks, and soon Navya realized that she has found both her dream job and dream man.

The couple started hanging out together more often and in the coming up next few years they decided to tick few of things on their bucket list. Both of them loved adventure so they started their adventure journey from going karting in Tokyo, then jet skiing in Dubai, hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, and with sipping Aperol spritzes at the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Navya shares how Mohit proposed her at 101st floor of The Peak hotel, Hudson Yards. They filled the place completely with roses and a nine-course menu, with beautiful Bridgerton’s soundtrack playing in the background. After this romantic proposal, Navya and Mohit decided to marry in a traditional Telugu wedding.

The couple chose Cabo, as they always wanted a destination and intimate wedding. With both families having their background in medical and pharma industry, it was the perfect choice for everyone to get away, relax and spend some quality time.

They hired Vaishali Deshpande as their wedding planner and Vikram Panicker as their event designer and decorator. The couple decided to include sweets and snacks along with Mohit’s face stamped on hot bottle sauce in the welcome bags for all guests.

Events

• The couple kicked off the wedding celebration by organizing a welcome party in beach rave style.
• At haldi ceremony there was flash mob dance performance. Guests were chilling and enjoying prosecco popsicles after the ceremony.
• The sangeet ceremony was spectacle with epic fire show performance. They chose their favorite Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama’s installation in NY theme as their sangeet ceremony decor.
• The reception party was inspired from Great Gatsby theme.
• During the closing ceremony the couple organized jungle disco-themed party and a perfect firework show.
• Live food stations were installed at the wedding with dosa taco, biryani, kebab, Mexican-style tapas with drinks like passionfruit margaritas and espresso martinis.

Fashion

• The couple worked closely with Bridelan India for the wedding outfits for each ceremonies. For haldi ceremony couple chose not to go with traditional yellow theme. Instead, Navya chose Ridhi Mehra all white outfit and Mohit in Label Crestelli kurta to compliment the bride’s look.
• For sangeet ceremony, Navya opted for Manish Malhotra’s lehenga in teal blue and sliver embellishments. Navya went with up do hairstyle and natural glam to compliment her overall appearance.

She kept her looks minimal with classic low bun paired with maang tikka, maatha patti, bangles and Russian emerald choker set. Mohit wore ivory Sabyasachi sherwani. Made his grand entry at the mandap with two camels dressed in Mexican desert ponchos. Yes it was a sight to see for all the guests.

For her reception ceremony, Navya opted for another glittery Manish Malhotra lehenga. The monochrome lehenga with tasselled sleeves and a feather dupatta. And was paired with crystal-embellished Amina Muaddi heels, making her look like a true Bollywood diva. Mohit opted for a more sophisticated look with Giorgio Armani’s classic black tuxedo.
