On 5^th May we had the biggest night in the history of Met Gala. Indians & Indian origin celebrities showed up in their best ensembles. Stars from music, film, fashion gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of the art in New York. This year’s event raised funds for the Costume Institute and grabbed global attention, but it held special significance for India as some of its biggest stars made stunning appearances on the blue carpet—specially crafted in Kerala for the occasion. Met Gala 2025 Theme: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”

The Costume Institute selected the Met Gala 2025 theme based on its latest exhibition, and this year’s theme was Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, inspired by Monica L. Miller’s acclaimed book Slaves to Fashion: Styling Black Diasporic Identity. The dress code on the other hand in decade was focusing exclusively on menswear -- ‘Tailored to you’. Sticking to the code, everyone from Shahrukh Khan to Diljit Dosanjh, celebs opted for outfits that were personal to them & felt like an extension to their idiosyncratic style.

Shahrukh Khan in Sabyasachi

King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan made his Met Gala debut this year in Met Gala 2025, looked absolutely dapper in a perfectly tailored black ensemble by famous Indian designer Sabyasachi. Shah Rukh Khan wore a large ‘K’ necklace, clearly symbolizing a king. Before he headed to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, he posed confidently for the paparazzi, flaunting his stunning outfit and jewelry. He struck his iconic pose, making fans swoon over his photos.

Diljit Dosanjh In Prabal Gurung

Diljit Dosanjh, who is a global sensation now, also made his Met Gala debut this year. Dijit was seen wearing a Prabal Gurung ensemble adorned with Golecha’s jewel and a matching turban. The singer brought Punjabi pride and global swag to the Met Gala, which was a perfect example of  tradition meeting trend, and style finding its soul. To complete his royal look, Diljit also carried a Kripan, which added a final touch of flair.

Priyanka Chopra wearing Balmain

For the fifth time, Priyanka Chopra arrived in Balmain at Met Gala 2025. Her outfit featured a clinched waist, power shoulders, a hat and statement jewelry. For the neck rest, Priyanka chose a Bvlgari’s Magnus Emerald Necklace which was featuring a 241.06 carat faceted emerald- largest ever made by the brand. The actress was seen with her husband on the red carpet..

Kiara Advani in Gaurav Gupta

Kiara Advani, who is expecting her first child, made her Met Gala debut this year. She wore a beautiful black off-shoulder gown by Gaurav Gupta. The look featured a sculpted gold corset and a flowing white trail. "In a tender celebration of motherhood, Kiara’s gown bore a heart-shaped mini plate symbolizing the connection between mother and baby," said designer Gaurav Gupta.

Isha Ambani in Anamika Khanna

Reliance hairess Isha Ambani is no stranger to Met Gala 2025, she has attended the event multiple times. This year Isha chose Anamika Khanna ensemble for the Gala, formally known as the Costume Institute Benefit. Her outfit honoured Indian craftsmenship with its handwoven Benarasi train. The look also featured a historic Cartier necklace once owned by the Maharaja of Nawanagar.

Mona Patel Thom Browne

Mona Patel arrived on the carpet in a custom Thom Browne outfit, accompanied by a robotic dog named Vector—an homage to Browne’s dachshund, Hector. She was all decked up in a tux, 1000 - carat diamond leash & custom moves.

Natasha Poonawalla in Manish Malhotra

Natasha Poonawalla’s  custom Manish Malhotra couture piece perfectly blended Indian craftsmanship with her Parsi heritage. Her look featured vintage Parsi  Gara saris, a corset-cummerbund, a tailored embroidered jacket, and a sculptural lace cravat by Atelier Biser. After looking this outfit, we must Natasha never fails to deliver fashion in any event.
